Joy fills our hearts. The Keta-Akatsi Diocese is blessed with the privilege of three Priests being honored by the Pope as Monsgnors. Some Christ’s Faithful are also blessed with Papal Awards. The ceremony was pontificated by the Apostolic Nunico to Ghana, His Excellency Henry M. Jagodzinski.
In his homliy, the Nunico, bringing us the blessings of the Holy Father, encouraged the faithful on what it means to sacrife for the Church and be rewarded. These our brothers and sisters serve as example to all. Following Jesus entails sacrife: seek first the kingdom of God and all other righteousness will be added. Jesus himself worked and received the kingdom of God. The invitation to follow Jesus also involves not concerning ourselves with material things. The crave for such possessions only make us selfish and bars us from the kingdom of God.
There is always more joy in giving than receiving. The Nunico also encouraged the awardees be selfless but committed to service of the people they encounter. Prayer is a tool to attain the kingdom of God. Without prayer, all efforts will be futile. God indeed is here with us. He added that we should always trust in God.
