Hatorgodo, St. Mary Catholic Church @ 90!

The St. Mary Catholic Church in Hatorgodo marks 90 years of Catholicism. The celebration was based on the theme: Acknowledging the journey of faith: let’s rise and build the Church.

It has been a year long celebration climaxed today, the 20th October 2024.

Priests and Religious, indegenes of Hatorgodo and the entire faithful mark this milestone, acknowledging the hard work of the pioneers of the Church, and hoping to build upon the past with determination into the future.

The Bishop, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD in his homily admits that the hard work of the Late Rev. Fr. Anastasius Odai Dogli, the first Ghanaian Priest of West Africa really touched the heart of the people and the yield of his labour is what we celebrate today. He encouraged the faithful to eschew all forms of rascals and build the youth into a better future.

Touching on leadership, the Bishop also admonished his listeners to build a society that has leaders ready to serve than to be served. Leaders must be humble than seek the places of honor, he added.

The Pastor, Rev. Fr. Edwin Edem FIAWORNU has been very instrumental in nurturing the faith of the faithful in Hatorgodo and the other outstations, renovating the place journeying with the faithful in love and service.

The traditional people were very much involved in this important celebration.

The faithful of St. Joseph the Worker Quasi Parish, Agbedrafor have also joined in the celebration.
