Once again, the Keta-Akatsi Diocesan Priests, Religious, Lay Faithful, home and diaspora have gathered this year to reflect, rejoice and dine with one another as a family.

The intention of growing and developing the Diocese is a call to all. Supporting the necessary developmental projects of the Diocese has always been on the shoulders of the faithful, home and abroad. The focus of this year’s Homecoming and Family Gathering is to continue our attention to the development of our Sacred Heart Shrine at Dzodze-Tornu.

The Bishop, in addressing the gathering hinted on the need to speed up the work, indicating that all who have supported the Diocese at various Parish levels did well and should continue in same spirits.

Financial support must flow from the fact that we are pilgrims of hope, hope that we shall make it happen, that is, to build our shrine to be a befitting place of God-place of worship.

The joy, hope and the possibility of building Dzodze-Tornu is seen in the expression of the gathered family; not only in their singing and dancing, but also in their generous contributions during the appeal for funds.

The ‘Yuda Dzata Makpeahana’ Cultural Group from Hatorgodo set the gathering on fire with their local soul-searching music.

The Financial Administrator, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Gidiglo updated the gathering on the progress of the Dzodze-Tornu Project. He is impressed with the financial supports from various Parishes. He is very optimistic that from the last year Homecoming and Family Gathering we are really making a head way.

There is much hope that we shall achieve our aim: to build a place for God. The infrastructural development so far is encouraging. There is hope to add more sheds and to start working on the shed for the Sanctuary. The phases of the project will see the light of day if we are committed to our various contributions. Our good intentions of building a place for God is blessed.

Dinning together as a family was also a moment to socialize and share experiences of the past and think of the future.

The chairman, Lawyer Chris Azumah, in his closing remarks acknowledged the success of the program through the fruitful collaborative contributions of the gathered family.
